The 1st Generation had no ENDURO decals, they used white press-on's from K-Mart. NOTE: I have pictures of this Frameset Before I RESTORED it, that show this frame in dark blue with white press on decals spelling ENDURO, and the canti mount on the frame that Mike Devitt had Sal Correa repair, prior to my having it powder coated. ONLY real difference in a OM FLYER of this year was wider rear axle spacing for gears (I have bullseye conversion axles), and the SHIMANO Braze-On's and Canti Mounts. Perry Kramers PK's Personal RARE OM FLYER ENDURO a Prototype Run of 10 Made - Frameset.
It was Originally Dark Blue and Wore White Press-On ENDURO letters from K-Mart. It had to be Powdercoated around 2003 because of a Professional SE Repair, a Canti Mount was broken(one of the ways PK can verify it was His), and repaired by Sal. Doesn't get any better than that.. I got this Frame around 2003 from SE's Mike Devitt himself.
You can see before and after pictures on the internet at 26BMX under. 26 BMX Cruiser Catalogue then, first column left side, SE RACING Enduro. RARE AS HENS TEETH to have Proper Non-Stamped LANDING GEAR w/CANTIS!!
Tough to see this one go.. SE Racing History - Beginnings of Downhill & Fireroad Bikes! Frame Forks NOS Headset ONLY / RARE Decals EXTRA &. This Frame was REFINISHED around 2003 by for me. Powder is Amazing Color but Imperfection at top and bottom of head tube. This is The 1st Version of 10 Prototypes in 1979 had NO head tube gusset bracing, and had Shimano braze-on's. This was PK's 1st gen ENDURO Frameset of 10 Made, that he raced in some of the first "Downhill" events.2nd Gen ENDURO are recognizer I was told by MD by presence of head tube gussets & Campagnolo Braze-on w/the ENDURO Decal. I have a few Rare ENDURO Decals left. 135mm to 126mm (Maybe little less) Rear Triangle made for the Early Days of Downhill/Fireroad with Multi-Speeds & Derailleurs. I may have some Bullseye axles to fit, Bullseye Hubs, simple swap? The REAL ENDURO's were Very Rare versions of what was intended to be mass produced, that never happened.
It's a Real Shame, they got even RARER, as many OM FLYER afficianado's restored the ENDURO's and had the rear triangle made into 110mm BMX spacing, and the braze-on's removed. There was a limited production run made overseas, mild steel, if my memory serves, not up to snuff, that most destroyed, supposedly some survived. I would think these could be distinguished by heavier frame weight.
Chris King Headset is NOT INCLUDED and AVAILABLE Separately. I have colors of OM FLYER, ENDURO & LANDING GEAR DECALS as well as Chrome SE Head Tube Badges, Proper Step Down Washers Etc.
