Extremely fresh and bright from a recently-broken larger multiple. 65 Green - Very Fine centering with slightly jumbo at top- Never Hinged Showpiece - Top right stamp has a tiny gum skip like a semi-colon ":" but with three dots the size of pinpoints--not shown on photos, this mentioned for extreme accuracy. This shows in the photographs.

This is a very superior set that you can be proud of. President Herbert Hoovers Postmaster GeneralWalter F. Brownwho served from March 5, 1929 to March 3, 1933 oversaw one of the greatest collector nightmares in the history of the United States Postal Service.

The set of three stamps were used briefly as intended (on first day and Zeppelin first flight covers) and then withdrawn from public sale when that collector backlashat the beginning of the Great Depressionbecame too much for the Post Office Department to bear. The Post Office destroyed huge amounts of unsold stamps because of poor sales.
